Native Hawaiians use dancing and music to communicate, celebrate and observe religion. The music typically accompanies games, festivals and other secular events. I found two examples of Hawaiian music. The first one is more modern and the second is a chanting song from the native Hawaii. The examples I have chosen have an amazing melody. Somewhere over the rainbow is everything you think when you’re going to Hawaii or when you hear somebody talking about Hawaii. An example of timbre is the ukulele that is playing its unique sound. The Paha drum is a loud echo that resonates in the background of the chant. The rhythm is peaceful, and moderate with his soft voice and the sound of the ukulele playing in the background. The chant rhythm is rough, rich and thunderous.
